Suzuki Motorcycle India rolls out the second phase of #KamPeetaHai campaign

Post receiving a great response for Suzuki Access 125 campaign ‘Kam Peeta Hai’, Suzuki Motorcycle India Pvt. Ltd., a subsidiary of two-wheeler manufacturer, Suzuki Motor Corporation, Japan, has rolled out the second phase to the campaign for their flagship scooter brand. The campaign line ‘Kam Peeta Hai’ is a quirky yet bold take on the two-wheeler’s superior mileage. Suzuki Motorcycle India has launched three more ads as a part of its second leg. Triumph Motorcycles partners with CSS once again

An initiative to train and promote safe riding amongst the motorsports enthusiasts in the country

Triumph Motorcycles India further strengthens its association with the California Superbike School (CSS) for the fourth year in a row. With the aim to make world-class motorsports skills accessible to talented enthusiasts and to equip them with the responsible and safe riding practices, Triumph Motorcycles made their Street Triple range (RS and S) available to the trainers at CSS so they could impart specialised training and skillsets to all riders attending the training.

Innovant launches Project IMPACT in Delhi

Innovant, Aeris Communication and the IET, to work together in the Phase 1 of the project

Innovant, with the support of The Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) Future of Mobility and Transport Panel and Aeris, launched the Phase 1 of Project IMPACT (Innovative Mobility for People Advancement through Communications and Technology), at the IEI Centre, New Delhi. IIT BHU is the Incubation Partner and Saraswati Seva Foundation is the Social Impact partner for the project. At the event, Innovant showcased its e-rickshaw project, a sustainability initiative that is enabled with IoT kits and other functionalities for rural India. The program is aimed at improving the livelihood in rural India and increase the living index parameters.

Project IMPACT will be led by Innovant International, which is working towards developing cost effective scalable technology solutions for Agriculture, Alternative Energy, Waste Management and Environment spaces; and powered with IoT Platform by Aeris, a pioneer and leader in the Internet of Things (IoT) market, committed to utilize its IoT technologies to improve the lives of those most in need and to foster better utilization of the planet’s scarce resources, under the aegis of its CSR global practice.

Speaking at the launch of the project, Vivek Singh said: “e-Mobility could truly be a game changer for rural and semi-urban skilling and employment.  Project IMPACT is an effort towards wrapping the best-breed technologies with sunrise industries such as e-Mobility to create supply-chain linkages, e-health diagnostics, Government policy dissemination, Farm facilitation.”

Dr. Rahul Singh, Chairman, SSF, which is the social impact partner for Project IMPACT, said: “Social context will build the idea in rural areas starting with health services and agriculture outcome support; SSF will take this to Eastern and Western UP networks and build a chain of development sector and social enterprise networks for delivery of services. It will help in creating more employment and develop authentic rural data.”

The IET will be the programme partner for Project IMPACT. Taking on its role as a neutral commentator and a credible authoritative voice, The IET is also in the process of forming ‘Future of Mobility and Transport’ panel which will focus on various mobility technologies. Led by Mr. Mustafa Wajid, CEO, Meher Group, the panel will have three vertical based working groups in the sector - Urban mobility, Rural mobility and Freight.

With the IET’s deep roots in the UK, various stakeholders from the UK transport and mobility sector will play a significant role as advisors to the panel. The working group will focus on issues and roadmap for Rural India Mobility.

POWERLINK now IEEE 61158 standard

Only Industrial Ethernet protocol to be adopted by IEEE

POWERLINK has been adopted by the IEEE under international standard IEEE 61158. It is the only Industrial Ethernet protocol to achieve this status. The IEEE views its standards for TSN and POWERLINK as core components for real-time industrial communication.

The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) is the world’s largest professional association in its field. Among its most prominent accomplishments is the IEEE 802.3 standard commonly known as Ethernet.

The IEEE’s industrial real-time communication working group has been working for the past two years on the definition of an Industrial Ethernet standard. In March 2017, POWERLINK was adopted as the sole IEEE standard with 97% of the vote.

Unrestricted openness

“Real-time industrial communication had previously been a gap for the IEEE,” explained Dr. Victor Huang, responsible for standardization at the IEEE Industrial Electronics Society (IES) following the vote. “With its combination of high performance and unrestricted openness, POWERLINK is the perfect complement to the other IEEE communication standards.” “The adoption of POWERLINK as an IEEE standard is an important step toward standardizing industrial automation technology at the field level,” added Prof. Aleksander Malinowski, IEEE Industrial Electronics Society (IES) Senior AdCom Member.

The Ethernet POWERLINK Standardization Group (EPSG) is an independent organization founded in 2003 by leading companies from the fields of motion control and automation technology. Its aims are the standardization and further development of the POWERLINK protocol first introduced by B&R in 2001. This high-performance real-time communication system is an advanced protocol based on the IEEE 802.3 Ethernet standard designed to ensure real-time data transfer in the microsecond range. Chennai to host global engineering expo, IESS, expanding India’s outreach in manufacturing, hi-tech exports

Chennai would be hosting, for the second year in a row, the International Engineering Sourcing Show (IESS) between March 8 and 10, 2018, under the aegis of the EEPC India, showcasing to global leaders in technology and engineering, India’s high-end R and D and manufacturing capabilities to become their dependable sourcing hub with a vast pool of scientific talent and resources.

MEYLE workshop advice: Rumbling and knocking noise in the suspension is a typical indicator of stabiliser and coupling rod wear. Tube Investments' standalone Q3 net profit up by 28%

The Board of Directors of Tube Investments of India Ltd. (TII), formerly known as TI Financial Holdings Ltd., approved the financial results for the quarter ended 31st December 2017. The Board declared an Interim Dividend of Rs. 1.25 per share (125%) for the financial year 2017-18.

Standalone Results

TII’s revenue for the quarter was higher by 21% at Rs. 1173 crores as against Rs. 973 crores (net of excise duty) in the corresponding quarter of the previous year. The PAT for the quarter was higher by 28% at Rs. 35 crores as compared to Rs. 27 crores in the corresponding quarter of the previous year.

Mr. L. Ramkumar, Managing Director, said: “During the quarter, bicycle market was sluggish but the Auto industry registered good growth in two wheeler and passenger vehicles segment. The profit before tax for the quarter was at Rs. 50 crores as against Rs. 38 crores in the corresponding quarter of the previous year.”

Review of Businesses

Cycles and Accessories

This division has registered revenue growth (net of excise duty) of 6% during the quarter compared with corresponding quarter in the previous year. Loss before interest and tax for the quarter was Rs. 3 crores as against the profit before interest and tax of Rs. 1 crores in the corresponding quarter of the previous year. Despite increase in revenue in the institutional sales segment, drop in revenue in trade segment due to slow down in the industry, has affected the profitability.


This division has registered volume growth of 26% in precision tubes and 10% in strips during the quarter compared with corresponding quarter in the previous year. This division has registered revenue growth (net of excise duty) of 35% during the quarter and profit before interest and tax for the quarter was Rs. 48 crores as against Rs. 37 crores in the corresponding quarter of the previous year.

Metal Formed Products

In this segment, the doorframes segment volume grew by 5% during the quarter compared with the corresponding quarter last year. The sale of Auto Chains and Industrial Chains recorded a volume growth of 22% and 17% respectively over the corresponding quarter last year. This division has registered revenue growth (net of excise duty) of 14% during the quarter compared with corresponding quarter in the previous year. Profit before interest and tax for the quarter was Rs. 29 crores as against Rs. 21 crores in the corresponding quarter of the previous year.

Consolidated Results

TII’s consolidated revenue for the quarter was higher by 20% at Rs. 1274 crores as against Rs. 1066 crores (net of excise duty) in the corresponding quarter of the previous year. The profit after tax for the quarter was up by 9%, at Rs. 34 crores as against Rs. 29 crores in the corresponding quarter of the previous year.

Shanthi Gears Ltd., a subsidiary company in the Gears Business, in which company holds 70.12% stake, registered a revenue growth of 18% for the quarter ended 31st December 2017, compared with the corresponding quarter of previous year. The revenue for the quarter was Rs. 54 crores as against Rs. 46 crores (net of excise duty) and profit after tax for the quarter was at Rs. 7 crores as against Rs. 5 crores in the corresponding quarter of previous year.

Kögel introduces new NOVUM generation of trailers

Kögel is gradually introducing the new and reliable external frame and body already known from the Kögel Lightplus for its Cargo, Mega, and Light platform trailers. The Kögel tarpaulin semi-trailers are also receiving further optimisations as part of the new NOVUM generation. NOVUM not only introduces the new external frame and body but also the new, optimally designed Kögel modular system with optimised, uniform new modules, assemblies, and components. This enables an extremely high level of individualisation for the NOVUM generation trailers, with Kögel addressing the wide ranging requirements of the market.

NOVUM – the new Kögel trailer generation


In future, all NOVUM generation vehicles will have a sturdy, torsion-resistant welded frame with full-width cross beams for high payloads and concentrated loads. Even more stability is provided by a new, slimmer yet stronger rear cover plate as well as the new air and lighting console on the front wall, which transfers forces along the side member to the frame. The new external frame profile greatly increases the accessibility of the VarioFix lashing points, allowing the cargo to be lashed to the VarioFix perforated steel external frame with the tarpaulin closed and also in combination with the optionally available drop sides. When using belts with claw hooks, the drop sides need to be open to attach them. The drop sides can remain closed when attaching belts with flat hooks. The 13 pairs of lashing shackles included as standard are now available with grip hooks at the sides for easier handling and have a tensile force of 2,500 or 4,000 kilogrammes respectively. Naturally, all NOVUM generation trailer frames have long-term protection from corrosion thanks to the nano ceramic technology in addition to cathodic dip-paint coating with a subsequent coat of UV varnish.


In the basic design, the front wall, including the front volume corner posts, the rear corner posts, and the rear wall door portal are made of aluminium. The standardisation of the corner posts with and without a lifting roof results in the following benefits. Particularly in conjunction with a lifting roof, weight savings are made. In addition to that, it is easier to position pallets along the front wall with side loading. Furthermore, all the drop side spacing is now a standard size on NOVUM generation vehicles. This means that differently sized slats are a thing of the past. The slat pockets can be arranged flexibly using a perforated profile on the corner posts and in the slat storage console. Naturally, the new semi-trailer generation also has a DIN EN 12642 Code XL load-securing certificate.

NOVUM update

Kögel is rolling out this update gradually for all Cargo, Mega, and Light variants. The Kögel Lightplus is already available. As of March, the Cargo Coil and Cargo Coil Rail will move to the NOVUM generation. Other variants of the NOVUM generation will then be available by/as of the IAA Commercial Vehicles 2018.
